Birmingham based indie rock electro inspired band 51 Breaks take a dash of inspiration from many genres to result in the delightful track listing of their EP ‘Blueprints’. A sort of blend of The Killers, Cobra Starship and Klaxons, 51 Breaks lay down the path of hopeful future with a shimmering collection of their latest tracks as evidence to the phrase’ it’s about quality, not quantity’.

Though each song is epic in sound and nature they don’t over power you when you listen to them and they have clearly had due attention given to them as they are perfected and crafted. The four piece band have supported the likes of Little Man Tate and The Infadels and share label mates such as One Night Only and so are in good company with more up and coming music darlings who, like 51 breaks, have produced some wonderful tasters of the greatness they potential have to grow upon.

Whilst touring and playing together for the last two years, band mates Michael, Tom R, Tom H and Marc clearly have tight bonds together as reflected in the Blueprints EP. Blueprints is laying the blueprint of what is yet to be seen from this band and I’d be interested to see how they convey the grandeur of the EP in a live performance before making final comment but so far I’m definitely impressed.
