Clacket Lane have previously had much success while supporting bands such as The Feeling, Boy Kill Boy and Razorlight and they released their first single in September of last year and their second single and album are ready!
The first track 'Out Of The Dark' is the longest track on the single at a staggering 5:43. It begins with a soft piano beat, followed by some intricate guitar picking, which lasts just over a minute untill it is joined by the soothing vocals.
Even when the full beat kicks in, the track is still quite calming in itself but it tends to get a little repetive and almost boring to listen to once you get to about 3 minutes in.
As soon as 'The Swallower' begins to play, it's a different story as you can hear a completely different sound from Clacket Lane. The vocals are still well polished but they work better on this track with the awesome guitar riffs and addictive beats that accompany them.
'Distance' is deffinately the stand out track on this single, as the sound is infectious and the melodies are catchier than the two previous songs put together. The vocals work much better this time around as they are much more louder and powerful.
'Out Of The Dark' seems like a track that doesn't really fit on this single. The second and third tracks are much more rock orientated and 'Out Of The Dark' is more of a ballad, but that doesn't mean it won't work on a full album, it just sounds a bit out of place on here.
Clacket Lane gig regularly in London, Kent and various Universities around the UK so keep an eye out for them!
