Teesside-based three-piece Dartz! could easily have slipped under the musical radar, seeing as there are so many indie bands flying around at the moment, but they have what you need to break through and grab attention – something different. Evidently this is easier said than done for most Myspace-generation indie bands.
This particular indie band, however, have earned themselves several fans in the music business, and stellar reviews have followed tours with the likes of Hot Club De Paris and Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly.

'This Is My Ship' is the product of the band’s entire lifespan, from the first song they ever wrote, 'Teaching Me To Dance' to recent singles like 'St. Petersburg' and 'Once, Twice, Again!'. Obscenely catchy, and beautifully thoughtful in parts, this 12 song LP offers a wide spectrum of songs. 'Cold Holidays', heavily influenced by trips to Prague, is a slower-moving journey through an opinion on travel destinations. 'Prego Triangulos' is a three-minute jitter-punk masterpiece with lyrics that, even after several listens, make little sense.

This album will offer much to a listener if you want to take it. If not, it’ll still make you forget why you ever listened to lesser indie bands like… all the rest.
