At first, this EP didn't inspire me. Boring cover, tepid artwork and an underwhelming opener in "In The Way". But luckily I listened on and I'm very glad I did - when the 2nd song "Bottom Dollar" kicks in, it's like a full on aural punch-in-the-face. Built on monolithic chords and memorable vocals, this is about as catchy as hard rock gets. Definitely a track to download.
The rest of the EP takes a series of twists. There is funk on offer during the title track, giving off the sounds of early Chilli Peppers and Local H, while "Pete's Porno" and "Fat Mamma Got Soul" are quality stabs at grunge-rock with caustic and memorable lyrics. Especially the latter and its shifting dynamics towards an anthemic chorus.

This is a very different proposition from most of what's out there at the moment and, for at least that, the band deserve congratulations. A brave move and a quality EP. Could do without the first song though!
