(live from 'Sounds Of The Underground 2005)
Unearth are the most anticipated metal release of the summer and are fast becoming the undisputed leaders of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal along with bands such as KillSwitch Engage and As I Lay Dying.
The screaming vocals hit you in the face just two seconds into the first song and they just don't stop. Each song has a dirty and intense sound to it which is positively complimented by the guitars, bass and drums.
As I have said in past reviews, I cannot stand songs like these, that are just constant screaming.
The documentation that came with the CDs I recieved states that Unearth have released previous albums and material. 'The Oncoming Storm' has sold over 200,000 units worldwide to date and various other releases have debuted in the US BillBoard Top 200 (#105), BillBoard HeatSeakers, BillBoard Top Independant Albums and BillBoard Hard Music Charts. With success like this, I wonder why this band are still sending out their CDs to young people who write for small Web Zines like Rock Pulse.
