1. Believe It Or Not

A highly catchy tune from these Bristol boys that is mostly enjoyable for me to hear British accents through the lyrics rather than just a generic Americanised vocal that many bands tend to adopt to sound commercial.
The lyrics tell a wonderfully different story of a message from a child to a parent of thanks and love even if they don’t believe they are telling the truth, which is another great leap away from the often over used themes of lost loves and “I’m angry at the world” songs which have their place, but again it’s nice to be presented with something different every now and again.

Blackchalk have a blend of screamo, pop-punk and emo traces that carry the song through and would appeal to fans of bands the likes of ‘The Used’, early ‘Brand New’ and ‘Sunny Day Real Estate’. Other tracks available on their MySpace also grace us with some of the delights you can expect to hear as they begin touring at the start of 2009 from ‘Slow Down’ and the heavier and yet perky ‘So Called Family’.
This four piece are already working on more recording time and hopefully as their gather interest they will be able to change their status from unsigned to signed as with the right attention from the industry they could put their music out to a wider audience who no doubt would welcome the change of pace from the same old, same old that gets passed around the airwaves until it’s played to death.

Roll on the new talent like Blackchalk.
