I always like hearing new bands and even trying something new; a totally different kind of music I'd normally reach for. Bottle o'Blooze are an independent blues/rock band based in Belgium with 'a nasty metal touch'. They do exactly what they claim to do, they give you a fun blues rock mix with a metal twist. Although they may not be signed to any big label does not take away anything from the great sound they produce and clear love they have for their music. They play for the love and desire to play not to take that music world by storm, although I'm sure they wouldn't turn it down...who would!

The four piece show some real promise in their original works and have a fantastically tight sound that comes through each track from their demo set available on their web site. Each track conquers up an image of the kinda band that you'd see playing in some grubby but yet cool bar in America, the kinda place that was tucked away in the back streets but was clearly the place to be to here some good tunes and meet friendly rockers on a Saturday night. Tracks like 'You're going down' go to show how at ease the guy's sound is and how they make it seem so simple, when it is anything but that, they are just good at what they do. Their covers are not just you're basic play and repeats but more their own interpretations on the songs, making them their own without losing the originals' ideals.

I was really impressed by Bottle O'Blooze because as I said before I don't often get to hear many unsigned acts that are actually any good, normal bands are unsigned for two reasons; they are great but undiscovered or they are crap and disillusioned. Bottle O'Blooze may not be the most amazingly sonic sounding act that I've heard recently, but they aren't trying to be. They are just a group of guys that are playing for the love of the music and because they feel they need to, and they do it well at that. They are the perfect example of what all bands should be about, not ego or fame seeking but just playing music with friends because you want too.
