Ever since hearing and reviewing Canterbury’s first single, I have been keeping a close eye on this band. I have watched them release numerous singles as well as a successful album. Their rise to fame has been anything but slow and they are currently embarking on a UK headline tour as well as releasing their brand new EP, aptly titled ‘Twelve Months.’

The first single to be taken from the EP is ‘Calm Down,’ a modern and exciting release, which will hopefully give fans a sneak peek as to what’s to come from this band for the foreseeable future.

In such a short time the band’s sound has noticeably grown into a more polished and professional version of itself. It’s a pleasant and easy listen but I know Canterbury are capable of much bigger and better things. The slightly reserved sound does relax to let their finesse shine through, especially within the choruses which are full of fizz, fun and energy. It’s the choruses that lift this particular track from something that passes through one ear and out the other to something that will eventually stick in your mind.
