Even before seeing them live with 'Test Icicles' on Friday 13th January ‘06, I have always been amazed by the synth-punk/no-wave sounds of Damn Arms. Following their first UK release, the “Patterns” EP, Damn Arms’ latest single, “Home Wrecker” is available online, but the postage and packaging, from Australia, cost me more than the CD itself. Twisting a bold bass-line with jagged guitar, frenetic drums and trade-mark muffled vocals, “Home Wrecker” and b-side “Now That’s A Reaction” will blow the mind of anyone, and are more energetic but still as precise in execution as previous releases.

The EP also has two remixes: “I Sink, Therefore I Swam” by Jitset/Test Icicles, and “The Conformant” by Midnight Juggernauts. As with the Patterns EP, remixes are only present to bulk up the CD, but they are entertaining none-the-less, and they put a new spin on the older Damn Arms tunes.
I expect up-coming debut album “The Live Artex” will be well worth the wait.
