London 'exlovers' latest EP is a mellow, yet melodic experience as the songs are eclectic offerings of indie rock.

The title track, ‘You Forget So Easily,’ opens this five song album with a jovial acoustic pop welcome. ‘Incomplete’ is the most buoyant track on the album and my personal favorite. The female harmony adds a dainty embellishment to the racing guitar riffs. Upon the first listen of vocalist Pete's delivery, there is an immediate similarity to Elliot Smith. In fact, this is more apparent in the simplistic ballads such as ‘The Moon Has Spoken,’ which makes the audience forget in the moment that they are listening to exlovers and rather some sort of unreleased material of the late Elliot Smith.

Fans of Elliot Smith will either enjoy or hate this album, depending on how they look at it. exlovers are not a rip off, but they finely walk that line between a likeness and a carbon copy. However, these guys and gal certainly do add their own small flair to the music. Hopefully, they will bring that out more with the next album. Otherwise, they are going to be constantly compared to Elliot Smith for years to come.
