Forming way back in 2000, Hot Chip are no newbies to the whole electropop genre - in fact they're more like novices with three studio albums under their belts. It wasn't until 2007 that Hot Chip had begun to creep into the mainstream music, with two UK top forty singles and single 'Over and Over' receiving acclaim, being titled as 'the best single in 2006' by NME magazine.

Hot Chip are known for their live performances, where they take their songs and play them in a totally different manner to how your ears may be accustomed to hearing it usually. With 'Ready For The Floor' it's easy to see how they can manipulate a song and change elements of it to make it unique; it oozes a beat throughout that makes you want to dance. In fact, Hot Chip are the type of band that you would want to play at a dead party to get everyone on the dance floor.
The song almost builds to a crescendo; the beginning of the song will guarantee to get the eager dancers on the floor and by the end even the most timid of dancers will be strutting their stuff. 'Ready For The Floor' is fun music that's playful, it makes you feel cool, funky and vibrant whilst you listen to it. If Hot Chip have been around since 2000 and can churn out a song like 'Ready For The Floor' then expect to hear them at a lot more parties during 2008 and beyond.
