Groundbreaking Australian and British dance/rock band Pendulum are already a staple band in many collections with their back catalogue appealing to cross over fans from rock and metal camps to club and drum and bass lovers; however this new record is a collision of all their loves and influences in the hopes of uniting one and all with a ‘new era for Pendulum’. The follow up to the their hugely well received debut ‘Hold your Colour’ this record is set to create a shift in their already established sound to show the larger music market the range of what they can produce from their pick’n’mix style of influences from Underoath to Led Zeppelin.

Heavy on the dance vibe Pendulum scatter the tracks with a litter of rock and indie styled vocals and beats that will surely be a hit with the Skins generation of indie dance and rock lovers that cross over from the club to the gig scenes listening to a little bit of everything. Super stomper track comes in the form of ‘Propane Nightmares’ which has had heavy Radio One airplay and pumps up the beats to intoxicate the feet to move. For fans of Prodigy, Shy Child and Muse, Pendulum have taken the ground work they built up from their debut and catapulted themselves into a higher category of work that not only sounds more appealing to my ear but has proven itself by reaching number 2 in the UK album charts. Other favourite is ‘The Other Side’ which is a fantastic mix to heat up the blood stream and engage through the uplifting lyrics.

The new material may not appeal to everyone but it is sure to explore the band onto a bigger scene and introduce the cross over fan bases to different genres in the same way in which acts like Gnarls Barkley appealed to indie, hip hop and dance fans. Pendulum’s new album ‘In Silico’ is available now from all good record stores and they are already confirmed to play many of this summer’s festival stages including Download, Reading, Leeds, T in the Park and Creamfields. The latest single is ‘Propane Nightmares’ also available now.
