The King Blues will be releasing 'Come Fi Di Youth' on August 6th 2007 through Field Recordings/Island Records. The track is taken from the band's latest album 'Under The Fog' which was originally released in 2006 on the UK's biggest punk label, Household name.
'Under The Fog' will be re-released through Field/Island with many of the tracks re-worked.
The King Blues have a commitment to politics and resistance culture, and are vocal supporters of anti-racism and anti-capitalism. Though they have played most of the UK's major rock festivals, they are just as likely to be seen playing Zapatista benefit gigs, squat shows and Love Hate Music Racism festivals as they are the more traditional touring circuit.
In a time of bands that are all producing similar sounds, The King Blues really stand out with their alternative sound. 'Come Fi Di Youth' is a soulful ska filled track that mixes well with folk, punk rock and a small dose of a reggae sound.
The vocals are powerful and a little rough around the edges which gives the track a real calmful yet exciting feel to it. The band seem to be opinionated and aren't ashamed to stand up for what they believe it which is refreshing.
After getting their first break back in 2006 thanks to a home made recorded demo winging it's way to Mike Davies of Radio 1's 'The Lock Up,' the band have gained support from all over the country and though still somewhat of a cult band, it won't stay this way for much longer.
