The Psychotic Reaction are a group of guys from Whitstable in Kent. Probably the greatest band to come out of Whitstable, The Psychotic Reaction believe they bring truth, beauty and noise terrorism to the local scene.

The band have produced a number of CDs, so why they wanted me to review tracks on their Last FM player, I will never know. Get your label to send out some CDs for review!

Goodwill To All Beings is a Christmas single which breaks away completely from the usual 'winter wonderland' story that most of these seasonal songs take on. The sound is very distorted and it's difficult to make out what the singer is blabbering about but none the less, the track is tightly packed with racing riffs, catchy drum beats and of course, no Christmas song would be complete without the sounds of bells!

Overdraft Blues is a song that I feel more comfortable reviewing in the middle of May. It's an instrumental track that begins to build but never really erupts. The band, however, have obviously been experimenting with their instruments on this track and they've produced something that steers clear of a clichéd, mainstream Indie sound. A dampened melody bubbles away through-out the track and a catchy guitar riff would sound even better if it were produced to a professional standard.

The band see themselves as an Indie band without the NME sponsored hair cuts and silly clothes, but the sound they produce leans more towards good quality pop/punk tunes. They are deffinately not afraid to experiment with different instruments which places them in a different league from other bands trying to do the same. I think we'll be seeing a lot more of these guys in the future.
