Tracklisting
1. My Everything
The Thirst are a Brixton based Quartet who were first discovered by Ronnie Wood and are fresh from appearances on BBC 2's Sound and sessions for XFM and Diesel U Music. Their latest single 'My Everything,' is taken from their debut album 'On The Brink' which will be released on Wooden Records this summer.
The single leaks that popular Indie sound that can only come from producer Jake Fior who has worked with bands such as Babyshambles and The Libertines; but the sound is also mixed with a bit of rock and soul.
The sould elements of this band come from front man Mensah's vocals which are a nice change from usual rough vocals we hear on indie records. The lyrics tell an interesting story of a TV documentary viewed by the frontman, about a gay HIV+ couple who's strength and courage seemed to have a massive impact on him musically.
The track begins with a soft melody and soothing vocals but it soons turns into a frenzy of beats and rhythms. It's chorus is insanely catchy and will no doubt have crowds howling it back to the band.
If this single is anything to go by, then I can predict that the band's debut album is going to be something pretty spectacular. Aswell as the release of their album, the band will also hit the festival circuit and their top secret track recorded with no other than Pete Doherty will be revealed.
